ABCDABCD is a semi-circular cross-section, in a vertical plane, of the inner surface of half a hollow cylinder of radius 2.5 m2.5\text{ m} which is fixed with its axis horizontal. ADAD is horizontal, BB is the lowest point of the cross-section and CC is at a height of 1.8 m1.8\text{ m} above the level of BB (see diagram). A particle PP of mass 0.8 kg0.8\text{ kg} is released from rest at AA and comes to instantaneous rest at CC.

(i)

Find the work done on PP by the resistance to motion while PP travels from AA to CC.

(ii)

The work done on PP by the resistance to motion while PP travels from AA to BB is 0.60.6 times the work done while PP travels from AA to CC.

Find the speed of PP when it passes through BB.
